Today we had a lawyer named Sherry Gillard who came to the SVI buildg in Seattle,WA to tell us alot about what you need a Entertainment lawyer for and how you benefit from it, how you can get robbed by signing a contract that doesn’t apply to you. She also said for Athletes, Hip-Hop Artists, R&B Artists, Actors, Actresses etc. in the media buisness you should always have a Entertainment lawyer to look over your contracts and meetings so you wont be tricked into something because of false info.
Ms. Gillard also told us that she came from a single parent home, that one of her brothers was in jail, and that she was the first to graduate from college in her family.
She seemed like a normal person, with normal people issues, who overcame alot personality, life, and educational wise. She was what I hope for all my phenominal sisters, a young black woman who had her college degree and was doing good for herself. She inspired me alot with staying in school, she said that whenever her teacher would call on anyone that they would have to stand and present what he asked, no sitting down when being a lawyer, she said when your in school to be a lawyer, you have no time for going out with friends, just time for studying and focus on the books, she also said that it was expensive for your study books, so for those who want to be a lawyer here’s some heads up
