2 days ago “Think Tank” and “SYEP” program groups went to downtown Seattle to make a public comment to the councilmen, about our black communities, how to make them better, how to send the message out about non- anti drugs and gang violence in the black communities of the Central District and Southend of Seattle, WA.
We had to cut our 2minute speehes down to a minute because of how many people were on the “public comment” list and how much time we had, so that was sort of a challenge and a learning experience of preparation.
After each Youth Intern, from each group program said there public comment, we left on behalf of the uproar, from the other groups, disagreeing on a another issue in the Council Chamber.
After that we all took photos and video camcordered each other about how we felt about the council meeting and our community, what it is coming to for our youth and our future.
